As a hybrid robot, the HRC-capable MOTOMAN HC10 from Yaskawa can be used in collaborative operation as well as a full-fledged industrial robot.
The manufacturer has extended the robot’s range of applications further with a new model: The HC10DT IP67 is both dust and waterproof. Thanks to the IP67 protection rating, the 6-axis robot can be used even in demanding environments where it is exposed to dirt or liquids, for example.
Like the base model HC10DT, the new IP67 variant also combines the best of two worlds: It unites the stability and high movement speeds of an industrial robot with the safe limitation of contact forces between operator and robot, thus enabling true Human Robot Collaboration (HRC). As a robot with power and force limitation, the HC10DT IP67 can be deployed according to the technical specification ISO TS15066. It therefore requires no additional protective measures, so that the installation can be carried out in an extremely flexible manner.
With the new model, Yaskawa has once again extended the robot’s range of applications, which has a handling weight of 10 kg and a reach of 1.2 m. The HC10DT IP67 is not only completely protected against dust from entering, but it is also waterproof even when temporarily submerged according to its protection class. This makes it suitable for handling tasks under harsh environmental conditions for example.
Programming made easy
The HC10DT IP67 also proves its flexibility when being programmed. The model offers a choice of three complementary options:
By means of Direct Teach (DT), it can be programmed directly via the robot arm. A special switch box with function keys makes this intuitive “Easy Teaching” method possible. The HC10DT IP67 can be programmed conveniently using the three buttons mounted on the robot flange – enabling switch, teach-in button and tool switch for opening and closing the gripper. The Smart Pendant touch screen programming device also allows users to make program adjustments quickly and easily. In addition, a full-fledged manual operating device with high programming depth is available for demanding programming tasks.
