GROB Systems offers its Access Series five-axis machining centers featuring U.S.-built basic models G350a and G550a for almost unlimited application and best machining quality.
According to GROB Systems, the company’s new Access Series five-axis machining centers are said to promise the best machining quality for individual and series production while offering cost-conscious entry into GROB technology. Featuring two U.S.-built basic models G350a and G550a, it is said these machines are also rated for optimized reliability, high productivity and modular expandability with automation solutions.
The G350a and G550a additionally offer almost unlimited application possibilities in milling applications and remain flexibly adaptable to suit every requirement. GROB Systems notes that they meet the broadest range of part requirements with the ability to machine the largest workpiece with the longest tool at the same time.
Both models include a rigid horizontal spindle axis positioned close to the operating point for maximum accuracy and precision. Combined with the models’ upside-down machining, GROB says each machine enables excellent chip fall and reduces the heat load in the component. Further, the models offer what is said to be the longest z-axis stroke and largest swivel range on the market for rotary axis.
The linear guidance system of the reference axis can be optionally equipped with a temperature-controlled cooling function, and a wide-opening work area door ensures safe access and ergonomic working, with maximum machine safety. Finally, large safety glass allows a viewable machining process. The Access Series is compatible with Siemens and Heidenhain control systems.
Typical applications for the Access Series include 3+2-axis machining and volume cutting (structural components) in the aerospace, automotive, pump and valve, mechanical engineering and job shop industries.
